A citrus fruit frowing on small trees, classified as rutaceae. Native to China. At present, it is cultivated in many countries, including among others Korea and Japan, Taiwan, Philippines as well as Greece and Spain.

Peel and pulp are orange.
It is a valuable source of vitamin C. 100 g of the fruit covers nearly 70% of the recommended daily intake. In addition, cumquat contains numerous phytonutrients: flavonoids and antioxidants.

Cumquat fruits are rich in magnesium, potassium, vitamins B, A and E.

The fruits are fully edible, with peel, but without the pits. Cumquats are commonly used for preserves. They can also be fried, cooked or even baked.
