Strawberry belongs to one of the most popular and tastiest fruits cultivated in Poland. Fruits were obtained as a result of cross-breeding of different varieties of wild strawberries.

Strawberries are a valuable source of vitamin C, A, B1, B2 and PP and in addition contain plenty of magnesium, potassium, calcium and iron. Pectin contained in strawberries stimulate bowel functioning, while organic acids regulate digestion processes and boost metabolism. Despite their sweetness, they are low-calorie.
Thanks to their properties, strawberries are recommended to people willing to reduce their body weight. What’s important, strawberries, similarly as kiwis or raspberries, are base-forming and therefore effectively de-acidify the human body. Strawberry fruit oil demonstrates antibacterial and antiviral properties.

Strawberries are consumed raw however are also used in food processing on a large scale. Freshness of these perishable fruits is commonly preserved by freezing. Strawberries are used for production of jams, confitures, marmalades, jellies, mousses, ice-cream, juices and beverages.
They can also be used to decorate cakes, pancakes, ice-cream and desserts and as ingredient of buttermilks, yoghurts and cocktails.
